Blue skies, brilliant sunshine, and not a cloud in sight made for a sparkling day at the Veuve Clicquot Cup. Fans filled the Newport Polo grounds for a lively local showdown as Newport and Nantucket battled back and forth in a match that kept everyone cheering until the very end. In true “Vive la Veuve” fashion, the iconic Veuve Clicquot gold and pink could be seen throughout the tents, tailgates, and fabulous fashions around the arena. Adding extra sparkle to the day, the ladies on the Nantucket team wore dazzling diamond necklaces by match sponsor Calista West. The match ended in a tie - just like last week - but Nantucket sealed the celebration in overtime, taking home the win 13 - 12. Between the champagne moments, spirited style, and edge-of-your-seat polo, this was a summer Saturday with plenty of pop, fizz, and #pictureperfect fun. Below are a few favorites from the match day.
