USA vs Ireland - Newport Polo

The breeze was warm, the skies were blue, and we could all feel the energy and anticipation ahead of the popular USA vs Ireland polo match. Ireland and the thousands of fans returned to see if Ireland could win back the trophy after 2 back-to-back USA wins. In honor of Ireland, the Best In Show theme was Emerald Isle. From the packed lawn seating, to the stylish pavilion tables to the creative tailgaters, shades of green could be seen everywhere. Team Ireland’s entrance was legendary, landing on the polo arena in the ”red” Newport Helicopter Tours helicopter. Both teams battled to the very end with a 10 to 10 score, resulting in the match going into overtime. To the fans’ joy, Ireland was able to take home to win, ending team USA’s 2-year winning streak. ‘
